Vice Mayor: Charges Dropped on All Small Marijuana Possession Cases

( Cincinnati ) - Calling it "real criminal justice reform in action," Vice Mayor Christopher Smitherman has announced that charges against people accused of possession of small amounts of marijuana.

In a statement released on Monday, Smither man says he's "excited to announce City Solicitor Paula Boggs Muething and City Manager Patrick Duhaney notified my office that due to the Smitherman/Pastor legislation on marijuana, all prosecutions/charges of 100 grams of marijuana or less in the City of Cincinnati will be dismissed immediately."

Smitherman goes on to thank his fellow members on council who voted to pass that recent decriminalization ordinance. He says he plans on moving ahead with a Charter Amendment that would make the expungement of criminal records more proactive on the city's part.
