Officer Shoots Himself In Chest While Fleeing Potentially Rabid Fox

A police officer in Ellenville, New York is okay after shooting himself in the chest while fleeing a potentially rabid fox. Last Tuesday, 24-year-old Officer Harold Nunuvero and Sergeant Robert Morse responded to a call of a possibly rabid animal after a fox was acting aggressively. The fox apparently started chasing Nunuvero. He had his gun drawn, but didn't fire it because Morse and a civilian were in the way. Nunuvero tried clearing a fence but his foot got caught which caused him to flip over and led to his gun going off. A round apparently struck him in the chest, but it ricocheted off his bullet-proof vest.
