(Richmond, Indiana) - A teenager is dead after exchanging gunfire with police and then killing himself at an Indiana middle school.
Indiana State Police Sgt. John Bowling says the gunman was the only person killed in the shooting at Dennis Intermediate School.
The shooting occurred around 8:20 a.m. Police say they were informed of an armed person going toward the school beforehand. They say when the confronted the suspect, he shot out the door to the building.
The teenager took his own life after the gunfire and is not a student of the school.
