The Cincinnati Police Department's 108th Police Recruit Class is ready to hit the streets. Today (May 18), is graduation day for thirty seven new officers who have been training to patrol the streets since last November.
With the commissioning of these officers there will now be a total of 1042 officers on the Cincinnati Police Department. Nine members of this class are legacy officers who are carrying on a family tradition of serving as a sworn officer in the City of Cincinnati.
The city says over the last 28 weeks these officers have "successfully completed rigorous instruction covering all facets of modern law enforcement." The graduates will spend their first week of service participating in a variety of community engagement projects.
