( Hamilton County ) - Hamilton County Commissioners are considering raising taxes to fill a budget hole, but they want to talk to citizens first.
That's what they said in a meeting Wednesday afternoon while they discussed the possibility of public input sessions between June 4 and June 11. This would put them on track to start putting a sales tax plan into motion next month.
Hamilton County Administrator Jeff Aluotto said his plan, if implemented, would save the county around $19 million next year and then $38 million in the next few years.
If the plan passes, the sales tax increase will go into effect in April 2019.
