I'll keep asking: Hey MLB, why go dark?

MLB is dark today.....no games tonight, or tomorrow. No Major League or Minor League. Why?

Again, the game misses a golden marketing opportunity.

MLB could play the Futures Game tonight. What a way to follow up the current stars shining in last nights All-Star game.

Fox could have spent three hours plugging the event during the MLB All-Star game, doing interviews with propsects during the game.

Instead, MLB jammed the Futures Games into the Saturday afternoon slot, along with 11 other MLB games. What sense does that make?

Did you even know they played the Futures Game Saturday? Reds prospect Rece Hinds homered and was the MVP. Rhett Lowder pitched a scoreless inning.

The Futures Game should be a stand alone event. There are multiple better days/times to play it.

It could be the kickoff to All-Star week starting on a Sunday night....or the wrap-up event on Wednesday or Thursday.

MLB could even have all MLB teams play day games on Thursday and then start an All-Break break that runs through Monday.

Make it.........Friday night: Futures Game.....the future stars come out! (also gives MLB All-Stars a travel day)

Saturday night: HR Derby

Sunday night: MLB All-Star Game

Monday night: Start of MLB Draft

Get back to the ML schedule starting Tuesday.

All players not in the MLB All-Star game would have five nights off (Thursday-Monday)

I get that MLB owners don't like giving up the potential of weekend dates. Fine.

Bottom line: There has got to be a better way than how they do it now.
