A Dutchman known as the "Indiana Jones of the art world" is credited with recovering a stolen Picasso painting worth nearly $30 million. The AFP news agency says Arthur Brand recently tracked down the portrait of Dora Maar 20 years after it was stolen from a Saudi billionaire's yacht in the French Riviera. Brand says the artwork circulated for years in the criminal underworld often as collateral in illegal drugs or arms deals. However, police in France and the Netherlands don't plan to prosecute the current owner. Investigators believe he may have bought the painting inadvertently and is cooperating with authorities.
