Romi came to us in February as an owner surrender due to the previous owner not being able to care for her anymore. This sweet gal came in at only 35 lbs with all of her bones showing and lots of hair loss. She became a staff favorite and was the Dog Care Coordinators office dog for several days while she was decompressing. She was a great office dog and never made a peep while doing emails or making phone calls. A wonderful volunteer took her home to foster and has helped her double in weight! Her skin has gotten better and she has finally gotten healthy enough to find her forever home!
Romi is a 2 year, 8 month old Shar Pei/Pit Bull mix with quite possibly the cutest set of ears you'll ever see! This social butterfly loves to meet new people and cannot wait to find her very own home. Her foster parents say she is crate trained and currently working on a schedule to get her housebroken. She is very treat motivated and is currently working on walking well on a leash. She already knows sit and is continuing to learn more. She enjoys going on car rides and playing with toys! Romi is living her best life in foster care, and is being spoiled like the queen she is. Through our foster program we get the opportunity to find out what makes each of our dogs so uniquely wonderful, and her foster parents have some great things to say about her. “Romi has been a great dog to foster through Animal Friends Humane Society. She loves everyone she meets and boy does she want to meet everyone! She loves to do zoomies in the backyard and going on her daily walks around the neighborhood. We call her Tender-Romi, since she has such a tender and sweet personality. She is very photogenic and is easy to give a bath too. She loves meal time and is very treat motivated. Romi enjoys giving affection and cuddling, while also having time to herself. Your heart will melt by her welcoming you home with a leaning paw lift. She will make a great addition to any family who would adopt her.”Romi does like being the queen of her castle and must be the only dog in the home, but don’t let that stop you! She will bring a smile to your face and she will melt your heart when you first meet her.
