Reds do it again....shutout in another 1-0 loss

Well, this has become difficult to watch. The Reds wasted another strong start, this time by Hunter Greene. The Reds have been shutout in back-to-back 1-0 games.

They fall to 2-4 in dropping back-to-back series at GABP to start the season.

Offense: The scoreless streak is now at 19 innings, after scoring 14 runs in the first eight innings on Monday night. After managing just four hits on Tuesday, they collected three on Wednesday. They have zero walks and 18 strikeouts the last two games.

Last season: Shutout 16 times. 1-run: 23 times. 2-runs: 12 times.

7th inning chance: Matt McLain reached on an error to start the inning and stole 2nd. Elly K. Gavin Lux K. Jeimer Candelario groundout.

8th inning chance: Jake Fraley delivered a two-out single. Francona pinch-hit Jacob Hurtubise for Jose Trevino. Fraley was picked off/caught stealing 2nd base after leaving early, to end the inning.

9th inning chance: TJ Friedl singled with one out. McLain struck out looking. Elly grounded out.

Greene: 7 IN, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 K, 94 pitches/74 strikes. He threw a first pitch strike to 23 of 25 batters faced. He got 22 swings and misses. He retired the final 10 batters. He recorded his 500th career strikeout. His 74 appearances make him fastest to the mark in franchise history.

Reds SP allowed 2 runs in 20 innings vs the Rangers. They have allowed 10 earned runs in six games: Greene (2,1), Lodolo 2, Martinez 4, Singer 0, Spiers 1.

Jack Leiter: Exited w/ a blister after 5 innings of shutout, 1 hit ball, and only 70 pitches.

Nathan Eovaldi perfect before Lux singled to start the 5th
Robbie Ray perfect before Lux singled to start the 6th on Sunday.

Elly: 2B, SB. He made an incredible running, backhanded, sliding catch into foul territory down the left field line. He raced 119 feet to haul it in.
