I'm usually in full 'optimism' mode for the Reds at this point of the offseason. I hope to get there. I'm not there yet.

When I watch shows from the 70's, like The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, why does everyone look so old when they really weren't that old?

Few things are as liberating as flying with just one carry-on that fits under your seat, and not having to worry about overhead room or baggage claim.

Anyone else constantly running short on plastic food containers because their kids take them, filled with leftovers after visiting, and rarely return them?

I feel a genuine sense of excitement when my Kroger card shows 40-cents off each gallon of gas when I fill up.

The fans discontent with Reds and Bengals ownership right now is palpable.

We saw Rod Stewart at the United Center in Chicago in 1996, with my radio partner Norm Van Lier and his daughter. We saw Billy Joel at GABP. Can't wait to see both at Paycor.

Casey and Peyton were both home for dinner Wednesday. Afterwards, we all stood around the kitchen island and talked for about an hour. It was pretty cool.

Great Cincinnati bar bets: (1) UC did not win back-to-back national titles with Oscar Robertson. Those titles came in the two seasons immediately following his graduation. (2) The Lewis Billups interception/drop in Super Bowl XXIII came at the start of the 4th quarter, not the final drive.

I felt pretty big time when we got to walk the halls of Anderson Middle School wearing our 7th grade basketball team warm up pullover

I bought Valentine's Day cards for Kelly and Peyton today. Look at me. Planner.

Landman (Paramount) is rapidly climbing my list of all-time favorite TV shows.

Unchecked on my sports bucket list is a stay at the Steve Alford Inn in New Castle, IN.

I miss Pudding Pops.

I played a left handed shortstop in junior high. I could not convince my high school coach that I could do that.

Wes Miller got an extension 11 games into his second season at UC. The buyout to fire him before March 31 of this year is $13M and before March 31 of next year is $9.9M. Not happening.

The Reds ended 2023 with the worst outfield in baseball. As of today, they still have the worst outfield in baseball.

In listening to Supertramp's "The Logical Song," I was reminded that the band used the 'tackled' sound from the Mattel electronic football game..... 'duh, dee....duh....deeeeee"

I've never seen American Pie or Entourage.

We had 10 foot high ceilings in our Ross Hall basement dorm room at Butler. We'd push the furniture against the wall and play basketball on a decent size backboard we drilled into the wall. Our RA was not happy.

There is no better example of fan mindset today than those not wanting Al Golden for the Bengals because of Monday night's game.

Today is National Beer Can Appreciation Day: Remember Olde Frothingslosh and Schmidt?

For all the Bengals have done to better connect with fans, I don't get why they have not tried a Bengals Fest and/or Bengals Caravan.

Don't worry about things you don't care about
