Stephenson homers twice, Greene pitches like an All-Star, Reds win!

Tyler Stephenson homered twice for the first time in his career and drove in a career high five runs. Hunter Greene pitched like an ace, a stopper and an All-Star over six dominant innings with 10 K. Santiago Espinal, starting in place of Elly, doubled and homered. Spencer Steer and Jonathan India each contributed three hits. Rece Hinds added another multi-hit game. The Reds take 3 of 4 from the Rockies.

Offense: 14 H, 1 BB, 6 K. 3 run 3rd, 4 run 7th. 7 players had hits.

Stephenson: 2 HR, career high 5 RBI. That's homers in three straight games and four over the last three games. 1st Reds catcher with 7 extra-base hits in a three game span since Ernie Lombardi, 1932 (Bally's).

Greene: 6 IN, 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, season high 10 K, HR, 97 pitches/60 strikes. Struck out 1st 6 batters…and all 9 batters in the lineup. Michael Toglia broke-up shutout w/ HR 5th. ERA now 3.34.

India: 3 H, 2 2B, BB, 2 R

Steer: 3 H, 2B, SB, 2 R

Espinal: 2 H, 2B, HR (420 feet)

Hinds: 2 H, 1B, SB, hustle 2B. First MLB series: 3 doubles 1 triple 2 home runs 2 stolen bases The only other player in the modern era to have 6+ XBH and 2+ SB in a single series at any point in his rookie season was Oakland's Mitchell Page in July 1977 against the Twins (Per Opta Stats).

Candelario: 2B, HBP, 2 RBI

Elly: 1st true day off of season. Did not appear. 2nd time not in starting lineup in 94 games.
