Nick Lodolo was filthy, tossing seven dominant innings and allowing just one run. Santiago Espinal hit a two-run homer for the offense. The Reds flashed big-time leather. Spencer Steer went over the wall in left field to take a two-run homer away from Michael A. Taylor. Stuart Fairchild saved the lead with a back to home plate running grab in CF with a runner on in the 8th that resulted in a double play. Alexis Diaz sealed the deal, disposing of the middle of the Pirates order.
The Reds snap a three game skid and will go for a series win on Wednesday afternoon.
