Reds 4 Tigers 3

How about that Reds bullpen? One night after six relievers tossed six shutout innings, seven relievers tossed five more scoreless innings and held off the Tigers 4-3 Wednesday night. The bullpen scoreless streak has reached 21 innings.

That's three straight wins and a MLB best 33rd one run win. They move to 76-71 on the year.....40-32 on the road.

The Diamondbacks lost to the Mets, so the Reds are tied for the 3rd Wild Card spot with 15 games remaining, and hold the tiebreaker.

Creating: The Reds stole a run in the 4th inning....and it proved to be the difference in the game. With Noelvi Marte on 3rd and Luke Maile on 1st with two outs, Maile took off for 2nd and stopped and got caught in a rundown. But Marte scored before the tag was applied to Maile to end the inning.

Bullpen: 5IN, 7 arms, 0 runs.......Cruz entered with two on/no outs in 5th and got a K, K, BB to load bases, Sam Moll entered and retired LHB Parker Meadows. That's six straight scoreless appearances for Moll. Gibaut 1.0 IN....Duarte 1.0 IN......Diaz 1.0, save no. 36. 1B Spencer Steer snared a liner to end the game with the tying run on 2nd.

Oh, crap: Tejay Antone left the game (right elbow discomfort) after issuing a two out walk in the 6th and a visit by Derek Johnson and then David Bell. He's coming back from his second Tommy John Surgery. Lucas Sims came on and got a K to end the inning.

Two out magic: After scoring five runs on two out hits Tuesday night, the Reds were right back at it. TJ Friedl tripled in two runs with two outs in the 2nd inning.

Every which way: It was Friedl 8th triple of the season. Only four players have more this year: Shohei Ohtani, Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte and Bobby Witt Jr. Later, he bunted for his MLB best 16th bunt hit.

Connor Phillips: 4.0+ IN, 4 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 3 K, HR, 82 pitches. Two of his three walks scored. He took a 4-3 lead to the 5th and found trouble when he walked the leadoff batter and allowed a single. He was making the 51st start of the season by a Reds rookie pitcher.

Offense: Harrison Bader 2 BB, 2 R......Friedl 1B, 3B, 2 RBI.....Maile BB, RBI.....

Live by the aggressiveness, die by the..........Marte was thrown out trying to go 1st to 3rd on a groundout to end the 8th inning.

Stranded: The Tigers were 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position.....leaving 13 runners on base.

Seriously: Tigers CF Meadows entered mired in an 0 for 23 skid. Alexis Diaz hit him with a pitch in the 9th last night. Phillips hit him in the 2nd and walked him in the 4th (scored).

Streaking: 21 straight scoreless innings by the pen
1 Friday
6 Saturday (5 relievers)
3 Sunday (3 relievers)
6 Tuesday (6 relievers)
5 Wednesday (7 relievers)
Are you sh@#^& me?

How the Reds scored:
2nd Friedl, two-out, two run triple, 2-0 Reds
4th Maile RBI groundout, 3-2 Reds
