Reds walk off Phillies 1-0 on Barrero single

Nick Lodolo tossed a career high seven innings and Jose Barrero singled with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to score Albert Almora Jr. and give the Reds a 1-0 win to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Phillies Wednesday afternoon.

High point for Lodolo: The rookie tossed a career high seven innings. 7 IN, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K. 98 pitches/64 strikes.

9th inning chance: Scoreless, Albert Almora drew a four pitch walk with one out in the bottom of the 9th. Alejo Lopez lined single to left field for his third hit of the day. With two outs, Jose Barrero snapped an 0 for 10 with a bouncing single up the middle to bring home the winner.

Silence of the bats: Heading to the bottom of the 9th, the teams combined for no runs, nine hits, 0 for 9 w/ runners in scoring position and 12 left on base.

Walk this way: Albert Almora Jr. walked in the second inning. Reds batters had not drawn a walk in the first two games of the series.

Assist it! Aquino made a running/leaping catch in right field. He pivoted on the warning track and threw a dart on the fly to double up a base runner at 1st base. It was his 9th outfield assist this season, his third double play. He has also thrown out five runners at the plate.
