Reds rally late, but lose again

Braves 2 Reds 1

For the second consecutive night the Reds (1-2) rallied late but suffered a one run lose, 2-1 to the Braves.

The Braves scored all the runs they needed vs Vladimir Gutierrez, in the first inning.

The Reds were shutout until Tommy Pham drew a 2-out walk in the 9th, was balked to second, and scored on a Joey Votto 2-strike single. Aristides Aquino fouled out to end the game.

Offense: Kyle Wright pitched six innings of 2-hit, shutout baseball vs the Reds. The Reds mustered a total of 3 hits, 2 walks on the night.

Vladimir Gutierrez settled down after a shaky first inning: 4.1 IN, 2 R.

Bullpen: 3.2 IN, 0 R from Strickland, Wilson, Hendrix, Moreta

D: Nick Senzel continues to dazzle in CF with a Gold Glove caliber diving catch in the gap. The Reds threw out Matt Olson out at the plate twice: Jake Fraley to Kyle Farmer to catcher Aramis Garcia in the 3rd.....and Aquino to Garcia in the 7th. The Aquion throw was clocked at 101.6 mph.

The Braves have won back-to-back games in the series without benefit of hitting a HR.

Sunday: Hunter Greene makes his ML debut.
