Bengals: Welcome to The Joe Show

The Joe Show

The night started with what had to be the most anticipated college football game for Bengals fans since Carson Palmer's final game in the 2003 Orange Bowl.

Until like most Cincinnati sports nights, the night did not disappoint.

Joe Burrow put on a show, a clinic: 31 of 49, 463 yards, 5 passing TDs, 58 rushing yards, and 1 rushing TD vs a Clemson defense that entered the game allowing 10.6 points per game (No. 1).

If found it tough to fall asleep due to my giddiness following his performance. I turned to counting his touchdowns in my dreams.

About all those Tweets and emails to draft Chase Young and tank for Trevor Lawrence.

The touch Burrow showed on deep balls was is impressive. The calm he showed in facing early adversity will serve him well going forward.

I'll admit to cringing each time he carried the ball.

Bengals WR are going to have to make a big adjustment: Getting use to making catches on the run.

Let's be honest: Playing Ryan Finley for three games should make Zac Taylor Coach of the Year.

Other impressions of the night:

MLB gets banged on for long and late games. Wonder how many kids were watching as the game turned to the 4th quarter at 11:31PM and ended around 12:20AM?

The amount of time spent watching and discussing replays and reviews is mind numbing.
