So the cutting board plank piece is kind of becoming my thing...I use it a lot but it looks so nice and low cost compared to what I would spend on a 6' long, 2" think piece of solid lumber...using 13 2x3s, I ripped them down to 2"...then glued them all together can clamped the living hell outta them...then planed them (this step not a must, you can just sand more to get thickness perfect)...again this whole bench, 6' long and two inched think I have $27 in materials...not bad

once it's glued, planned, and sanded, it's time for stain...this English Chestnut stain is beautiful..two coats

finishing the trim...cutting trim is the most maddening thing ever for me...piece is too long then you cut a width of a hair off and it ends up being like a quarter inch short..ugh

I prepainted everything before I put it up but now just going back and touching up some places
