PHOTOS: 2026 Cincinnati Open: Women's Final Gauff vs Pegula

More history was made at the 2026 Cincinnati Open, as for the first time since 1970 two American women would play for the title. 2023 Cincinnati Open Champion Coco Gauff would face off against top ranked American Jessica Pegula. Gauff would be looking for her 4th career Masters 1000 title, while Pegula would be trying to win her 5th and 1st title in Cincinnati.

Gauff would explode out of the gate winning the first 5 games before Pegula would respond. The 1st set barely lasted a half hour before Gauff claimed it.

The 2nd set was almost the same as the 1st with Gauff again jumping out to a big lead. Pegula was able to pull closer this time, but could not overcome Gauff's efforts, and gave the young American her 2nd Rookwood cup.

Coco Gauff defeats Jessica Pegula 6-2, 6--4
