An American Airlines catering cart spiraled out of control on the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois as workers tried to avoid getting struck by it. Passengers waiting inside the airport captured the wild scene as the cart spun toward the plane parked at the gate.
Workers tried to get inside the cart to bring it under control but were unable to grab the wheel. A few workers were knocked to the ground and had to be pulled to safety as the cart drove around in circles.
The cart nearly struck the jet, but another worker drove by on a piece of machinery and knocked the out-of-control cart over, spilling its contents all over the tarmac.
American Airlines issued a statement saying they are investigating the incident and that a stuck accelerator likely caused it. Nobody was injured and the flight was only delayed by ten minutes.
