Wounded Vet Mocked On SNL By Pete Davidson Wins Election

A wounded veteran mocked on Saturday Night Live has been elected to Congress.  Texas Republican Dan Crenshaw is a Navy Seal who lost his right eye in 2012 when a bomb exploded during a mission in Afghanistan.  Crenshaw now wears an eye patch.  On SNL last weekend, comedian Pete Davidson said Crenshaw looked like a hitman in a porno movie, adding he wears the eyepatch because he "lost an eye in war, or something."  The joke was denounced by Republicans and Democrats alike, who said it was insensitive to wounded vets.  Crenshaw brushed it off, saying he's from a SEAL team and not easily offended.  On Tuesday, Crenshaw won his election in Texas and will be the new representative for U.S. House District 2.
