Teenager Fatally Stabbed In Dispute Over Girl As Dozens Watch And Film

A dispute over a girl led to a fatal stabbing in the parking lot of a strip mall in Oceanside, Long Island. Khaseen Morris, 16, and his 17-year-old friend were jumped by a group of six or seven people as a large crowd gathered to watch the attack.

Morris was stabbed in the chest and died from his wounds while his friend suffered a broken arm and swelling to his head.

Over 60 people stood by and watched while some kids pulled out their cell phones to record the fight. Some kids even mocked the injured teens after the brawl was over.

"Kids stood there and 'didn't help Khaseen," Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said. "'They'd rather video. They videoed his death instead of helping him."

Police arrested 18-year-old Tyler Flach and charged him with murder. They are continuing to investigate and trying to identify the other people involved in the attack.

"I want to plead with all our residents — not just our young people: If you see someone in serious danger, please use your phone to get help — not likes and shares," Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said in a statement.
