( Cincinnati ) - It's not official just yet, but the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is poised to be the developer for bringing a new concert venue to the city's riverfront.

On Monday, Hamilton County Commissioners endorsed MEMI, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's music management firm, to develop a new music venue for The Banks. MEMI already operates Riverbend (pictured above), the nearby PNC Pavilion, and the Taft Theater.

Monday afternoon, Cincinnati City Council's Budget & Finance Committee heard pitches from both MEMI and PromoWest, the group that runs the recently-completed Bunbury Music Festival, but in a unanimous vote, the council committee went with CSO's MEMI. Full council will take up the measure at its regular meeting Wednesday.

The specific location of this future concert attraction still has yet to be decided. The Cincinnati Bengals have a say in the matter, and they recently posted a public letter saying they're in favor of the addition, and they have an opinion on where they think it should go.
