(700 WLW)- Green Township Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office say a fatal overdose / auto crash occurred in the 5900 block of Colerain Avenue a little before 5 o'clock, late Monday afternoon.
A 2005 Ford Taurus, operated by 33 year old, Daniel Schwartz, of Cincinnati, was traveling northbound on Colerain Ave. in the 5900 block. Mr. Schwartz entered the center turn lane and rear ended a 2009 Saturn Vue, operated by Richard Baringhaus. The Saturn Vue was stationary in the center turn lane, waiting to turn west into a private parking lot. After the impact, Mr. Schwartz then backed southbound, crossed both northbound lanes, and exited the east edge of the roadway. The Ford Taurus finally stopped after striking the building at 5975 Colerain Avenue. Mr. Schwartz was transported to Mercy West Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
