UPDATE: Covington Police Officer Shot

( Covington, KY ) — Update (5:30pm): Kentucky State Police have identified the suspect in the shooting as 41-year-old Brad Williams of Elsmere. He was apparently shot by police early Saturday morning after he allegedly shot an officer. That officer was treated and released. Williams is in stable condition at UC Medical Center is is charged with attempted murder of a police officer among other counts.

Update (11:22am): Kentucky State Police say that a Covington Police Officer and another person were shot.

The officer suffered non-life threatening injuries and has already been released from the hospital. The other person was taken to UC Medical. Their condition is unknown.

It's still unclear what led to the shooting.

Kentucky State Police Detectives are investigating an officer involved shooting in Covington.

It happened Saturday morning at a home in the 4500 block of Decoursey Ave. 

All that's known at this time is that officers from the Covington Police Department were involved. 

No word on any injuries or what led up to the shooting. 

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
