Butler County Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty

(Butler County) Police say she had moved to a new home, abandoning the dogs without food, water or shelter. A Butler County woman is now facing charges of animal cruelty.

The Butler County Sheriff's Dog Warden was called for a welfare check on seven dogs at a home on Morganthaler Road in St. Clair Township. Officers found three dogs dead because of the cold and neglect. Four others were alive, but severely malnourished.

Melissa Damico is charged with three felony charges of animal cruelty and four misdemeanor counts. She's set to appear in Hamilton Municipal Court.
