Police Confirm Death Of A 4 Year Old

(700 WLW)- On Monday, at around 1:15 pm, the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to 5300 Winton Road to investigate a serious injury traffic crash.

Mr. Terence McNulty, was operating a 2004 Ford Taurus north on Winton Road. A 2001 Audi A6, driven by Mr. Gerald Howell, M/30 was also traveling north on Winton Road. The Audi A6 and the Ford Taurus made contact causing both vehicles to veer into the southbound lane on Winton Road. The Ford Taurus was struck by a 2004 Subaru Forester traveling south on Winton Road driven by Mr. Alan Spinneweber, M/53. The Ford Taurus left the roadway, struck the guardrail, overturned, and went into the grass. The Audi A6 also crossed the double yellow line and was struck by a 1995 Mercury Mystique traveling south on Winton Road driven by Mr. Ricky Eason, M/23.    

Mr. McNulty was transported to Good Samaritan hospital with minor injuries and is listed in fair condition. A female juvenile, 4 years of age, a passenger in the Ford Taurus was transported to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries and was listed in critical condition. Mr. Howell was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries and is listed in good condition. His passenger, Ms. Raeawna Johnson, was treated and released. Mr. Spinneweber was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries and is listed in good condition. His passenger, Mrs. Lori Spinneweber F/52, was transported to University Hospital with serious injuries and is in fair condition. Mr. Eason was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries and is listed in good condition.

**UPDATE** On Tuesday, the female, four (4) years of age, succumbed to her injuries while being treated at Children’s Hospital.  Mr. McNulty, Mr. Howell, Mr. Spinneweber, Mrs. Spinneweber and Mr. Eason were all wearing seatbelts.  The female juvenile was wearing a seatbelt, but was not in a child safety seat. Ms. Johnson was not wearing her seatbelt. Excessive speed appears to be a factor in this crash.
