Trump Refutes 'Totally Fabricated' Account Of Call With Soldier's Widow

INJODuring his Tuesday morning tweestorm, President Donald Trump refuted an unnamed Democratic congresswoman for allegedly making up a story about comments he made to a fallen soldier's widow.

Trump's tweet followed controversy surrounding his claim earlier this week that former President Barack Obama didn't call families of fallen soldiers, something on which he would later claim ignorance.

He made that claim during a press conference in which he addressed the deaths of four soldiers killed in Niger on Oct. 4. One of those men was Sgt. La David Johnson, whose wife was contacted by Trump after his death.

On Wednesday morning, Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) called Trump “a sick man” as she recalled the president making insensitive remarks to Johnson's widow, who allegedly “broke down” after Trump's call with her.
