Ohio House Member Wes Retherford Arrested

An Ohio House member is facing charges after he was found early this morning passed out in his vehicle with a loaded gun on the seat.

State Representative Wes Retherford was arrested after officers found him passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in the McDonald’s drive-thru in Liberty Township. Retherford was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, a misdemeanor; and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a felony charge.

He represents the 51st Ohio House District, which includes the cities of Hamilton and Fairfield, Ross Township, and portions of Fairfield, Hanover, and St. Clair townships.

Retherford attended the Butler County Republican Party's Lincoln Day dinner the night before his arrest. His bond is set at $2500.
