Reds Baseball Heaven
The Baseball Heaven Alumni Association is selling raffle tickets for a spot in next year’s (2015) Reds fantasy camp. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100. Only 500 total tickets will be sold so the odds are pretty good. The winner’s name will be drawn at RedsFest in December. You do not need to be present to win.

Cincinnati Reds versus Washington Nationals
Great American Ball Park
From Steven Sharp
Reds right fielder Jonny Gomes hit home runs in the second inning, in the fourth inning, and in the sixth inning, in leading the Reds offense for the game. Gomes stepped to the plate in the eighth inning with a chance to hit a fourth home run, but was struck out looking by Nationals reliever Mike MacDougal. Gomes finished the game with five RBI. This was more than enough for Bronson Arroyo, who pitched a gem. Arroyo shut out the Nationals on two hits, throwing 103 pitches in a complete game effort. Leftfielder Laynce Nix played a supporting role defensively, as he made a leaping catch at the wall of a line drive off the bat of Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman for the final out of the game. The Reds won, 7-0. Boxscore.

Cincinnati Reds versus San Diego Padres
"Russell Debuts with Complete Game Win"
From Steven Sharp:
Cincinnati native Jeff Russell made his MLB debut, in his hometown for the Reds. Russell pitched a five-hit complete game, leading the Reds to a 3-1 win over the San Diego Padres. The only Padres run was an unearned run, which scored in the first inning on a passed ball by catcher Dann Bilardello. In addition to the complete game, Russell excelled at the plate -- base on balls in the second inning, RBI double in the sixth inning, and a sacrifice bunt in the eighth inning. Second baseman Ron Oester, a fellow Cincinnati native, plated the first Reds run with a solo home run in the second inning. Shortstop Dave Concepción had three hits, two stolen bases, and recorded the Game-Winning RBI with a single that scored center fielder Eddie Milner in the fifth inning. This marks the last time that a Reds pitcher threw a complete game in his MLB debut. Boxscore.
