Turn One/What do we know?
Most GM's will tell you they need at least 40 games to get a sense and feel for what they have with their team. The Reds are now 42 games into the season. What have we learned about the Reds?
What are their issues?
What has been the most disappointing aspect of this team?
Most disappointing player?
The Reds have played 42 of 162 games, that's 26% of the way through the season.
They have 120 games remaining. In order to win 90 games the Reds would have to go 71-49 the rest of the way (.592). That would be the equivalent of winning 96 games over a full season. Can the Reds go that? Will 90 wins be enough for a Wild Card?
The Reds have played .592 baseball or better for a full season once since 1981, in 2012 when they finish 97-65 (.599). The Reds did play .592 baseball for the decade of the 1970's.
The perfect team for.......
Reds longest winning streak is 3 and longest losing streak is 3.
Reds have had four losing streaks of 2 games.
Reds have had two winning streaks of 3 games.
Reds have one winning streak of 2 games.

Devin Mesoraco is 27 for 54 this year. My Butler math tells me that's a .500 batting average. He's done that around two trips to the disabled list!
He started the season on the DL with a strained oblique.
He returned to the active roster on April 8 and hit .468 (22 for 47), 3 HR, 13 RBI in 13 starts. He went back on the DL April 26 with a strained hamstring.
He's returned from the DL May 16 to go 5 for 7 (.714), HR, 4 RBI.
Devin has played in 15 games. He has at least one hit in 14 games, 8 multi-hit games, three 3-hit games, one 4-hit game, at least an RBI in 9 games, and scored at least a run in 10 games.
Most recent #Reds with .500 AVG at least 61 PA into season: 2014 - Devin Mesoraco (61 PA) 1976 - Pete Rose (72 PA) 1970 - Tony Perez (78 PA)— Joel Luckhaupt (@jluckhaupt) May 19, 2014

Sports on Earth looks at the NFL's All-Hinge Team:
Defensive tackle: Geno Atkins, Bengals. Atkins is expected back from his ACL injury by the start of camp. When he's available and at full strength, the Bengals have perhaps the best front seven in the AFC; coupled with their skill-position talent, making them worthy Super Bowl contenders. Without Atkins, they must blitz to create a pass rush and become more vulnerable against the run, making them just another team looking up at the Broncos and Patriots, who are looking up at the 49ers and Seahawks, who are looking down upon all of us with patient amusement.
