Final: Padres 1 Reds 0 Boxscore
Mat Latos held the Padres to one hit and one run over 7 innings, but five Padres pitchers combined to strikeout 12 Reds and allow no runs in a 1-0 Padres win.
It's the first time the Reds have lost a game allowing just one hit since Sept. 12, 1950, when they lost 3-1 to the Brooklyn Dodgers.
*Win streak ends at 6-2 on trip.....43-39 overall.
*Reds drop .5 game to Brewers and Cards, who were off....7 out, and a full game to Nationals, who take over sole possession of 2nd Wild Card spot.
*Reds drop to 1-3 vs Padres this season, scoring 7 runs, allowing 9 runs: 2-1 L, 5-0 W, 6-1 L, 1-0 L.
*Reds 4th 1-0 loss of season....that happened 3 times in '13, once in '12 and twice in '11.
*June runs: Reds 135, Padres 60. SD has scored 5 runs in last 5 games.
*San Diego finishes batting .171 as a team for June. Per ESPN, the worst team batting average for a full month since 1920.
*2nd time Padres have won a game this year with one hit (
*Reds 14-16 in 1-run games.....30 of 82 games 36.5%
*Latos: 7 IN, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K. Retired the side 1-2-3 in five innings.
*Latos last 2 outings: 14 IN, 2 R.

*4 SD relievers combined for 4 innings, of 2 hit baseball.
*Reds lost to Padres 2-1 on May 13, allowing SD just 3 hits.
*Joey Votto is clearly compromised. He winced on swings and even handling a pickoff attempt by Latos. His back leg appears unstable on swings.
*Votto battled/singled in the 9th and was pinch-run for by Heisey.
*Reds batters had 12 K/2 BB....Cozart only Reds player not to K.
*Frazier: H, BB, SB. Mesoraco: 2B, HBP.
B5: Tommy Medica BB, SB, tagged on deep fly by Maybin and advanced to 3rd, scored on sac fly by Everth Cabrera. 1-0 Padres.
Missed chances:
*Reds had 6 base runners in first three innings.
T1: Billy Hamilton caught stealing for ML hit 12th time?
T1: Frazier doubled off after Votto line out to CF to end 1st inning. Trap? No challenge by Price?
