UD's Miller named Ohio Coach of the Year
COLUMBUS – University of Dayton men’s basketball coach Archie Miller has been named Ohio Men’s College Basketball Coach of the Year by the Columbus Dispatch, it was announced Sunday.  Miller was selected by vote of Ohio’s college coaches after the 2013-14 season and the results were announced in the Dispatch in a story written by Mark Znidar.
Miller was a landslide winner after Dayton’s exciting run to the Elite Eight. He earned 71 votes in the poll.  Cincinnati’s Mick Cronin was second with 23 votes.
Previous winners or the award have been Miller’s brother Sean during his tenure at Xavier and his former boss, Thad Matta, at Ohio State.

I remember this!
Sunday was the anniversary of Bob Watson scoring the one millionth run in MLB history in 1975. I remember a big deal being made of who and how the run would score. I was at Riverfront Stadium watching the Reds that day. The scoreboard had been counting down throughout the game and the buzz was building.
At the same moment Houston's Milt May homered, with Watson on second base, Reds SS Dave Concepcion homered. The Riverfront crowd went nuts, urging Concepcion to race around the bases. As Concepcion raced across home plate, the crowd celebrated, assuming he had been the one millionth run. Moments later a message flashed on the scoreboard revealing that Watson had beaten Concepcion across the plate by four seconds. Watson's prize?$10,000 and one million Tootsie Rolls (sponsor of event).
