Can you explain to me what Brandon Phillips is doing on the ball hit to Frazier at the 26-second mark of these highlights? If the ball gets through, a run scores. That ball has to be smothered.

The Bengals today signed two of their early selections from the 2014 NFL draft, HB Jeremy Hill (second round, LSU) and DE Will Clarke (third round, West Virginia).
Hill posted two stellar seasons at LSU, setting a school career record for yards-per-rush (6.25). He had six rushes of 50 or more yards as a senior. At 233 pounds, he is the biggest RB the Bengals have drafted above the sixth round since 1977, when 248-pound Pete Johnson was chosen in the second round.
Clarke (6-6, 271) was successful both at DE and at DT during his West Virginia career. He switched from weak-side DE to strong-side DT as a senior and absorbed the move with ease, posting career-best totals for sacks (6.0) and tackles-for-loss (17.0). He is the only player in WVU history to win three “Iron Mountaineer” awards for excellence in the weight room.
The Bengals now have signed seven of their eight draft selections. Signed previously were C Russell Bodine (fourth round, North Carolina), QB AJ McCarron (fifth round, Alabama), LB Marquis Flowers (sixth round, Arizona), WR James Wright (seventh round, LSU) and CB Lavelle Westbrooks (seventh round, Georgia Southern).

Cool story on former Bearcat Connor Barwin:
Barwin expects at least a dozen Eagles to attend the event, which will raise between $30,000 and $40,000. That will be matched by Barwin's foundation and go toward a new basketball court, a rain garden, an urban farm, and a new mural for the park.

CINCINNATI – The BIG EAST Champion Xavier Musketeers are seeded fourth in the Nashville regional as chosen by the NCAA selection committee Monday afternoon, where XU is pitted against regional host and No. 1-seed Vanderbilt. No. 2 Oregon takes on No. 3 Clemson in the other half of the region.
Xavier opens its NCAA postseason on Friday, May 30 at 8:00 p.m. (ET) at Hawkins Field, the home turf of the Commodores. The game will be streamed on ESPN3, a subscription-based programming network.
A watch party was held to view the NCAA Selection Show on ESPNU and celebrations began as Xavier made the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2009 and just the second time in program history.
Xavier earned the automatic bid to the regionals after winning three-straight in the BIG EAST Championship this past weekend, knocking out St. John’s, Seton Hall and finally shutting out Creighton in the title game, 5-0.
The Musketeers last earned a bid in the Houston Region back in 2009 when it took on Kansas State in the first game. XU lost, 16-8, but came back to defeat Sam Houston State, 9-6. The season ended with a 12-5 setback against No. 6 Rice the next day.

Justin Doellman (Ryle HS/Xavier 2003 to 2007) was named MVP of Liga Endesa, the league he is playing in based in Spain. He plays for Valencia Basket Club.
