The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-1 Sunday afternoon
and in the process clinched the third playoff appearance in franchise history.
The Jackets also reached 100 points for the first time in franchise history.
The game featured two penalty shots goals by the Jackets (Lukas Sedlak,Brandon Dubinsky),
just the third time in NHL history a team has scored two penalty shot goals in a game.
Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky had 35 saves for his league-leading 39th victory.
The Jackets have won fourth straight, seven of eight and 12-3-1 in its last 16 games.
The Jackets stand 47-18-6 overall with 11 regular season games remaining.
They first made the playoffs in 2009, but they have never won a playoff series.
