It's hard to believe, but Godsmack has been around since 1995, when they formed in Boston. Year in and year out they are one of the highest grossing bands in the US. They even have 20 top ten rock radio hits! You can see them at Riverbend on August 17th with Skillet, Buckcherry, and Pop Evil at the Uproar Festival. They're newest album, 1000 HP, is in stores now.
Our other artist this week is 30-year old singer/songwriter Andy Grammer. He got started writing songs at the age of 15, but had a good influence his whole childhood. His father is Red Grammer, a well-known writer of children's music. Magazines or Novels is his second studio album, and he had plenty of success with the first. He became the first male artist, since John Mayer in 2002, to reach the Top 10 at Adult Pop Radio on his first two singles. Hopefully he can have similar success with his the first single, Back Home.
A LITTLE ABOUT JIM
Each morning from 5am-9am , Jim talks with them all, news correspondents from the White House to London to Baghdad; newsmakers from former Presidents to Playboy beauties; sports figures from Pete Rose to Marvin Lewis and actors, authors and activists. He's the voice of volunteerism, the emcee of choice for just about anything from Marty Brennaman night at the ballpark to a Bengals rally to a visit from the President. Jim is an avid golfer, marathon runner, the guy who will close your kids' school in the winter. And he does this all on 5 hours of sleep a day. Jim is the winner of the 2002 Marconi Award for Large Market Radio Personality of the Year. His show is produced by Greg Shurts.
