Lodolo dazzles as Reds beat Padres

Nick Lodolo was filthy, firing seven innings of one hit, one run baseball with 11 strikeouts. He matched Hunter Greene's seven innings of one hit baseball from Saturday. Elly De La Cruz gave the Reds a 1st inning lead with a 443 foot blast. The Reds move to 16-13 on the season and clinch their first winning record at the end of April since 2013. They handed the Padres their fifth consecutive defeat.

Notes: 

Elly: HR No. 8….443 feet with a 113.4 mph exit velocity. That’s 8 HR in 20 games since going w/o a homer in his first 9 games. 
Per Sarah Langs: Elly now has 8 HR and 17 SB in April. He’s the 1st player with at least that many HR & SB in a calendar month (since at least 1901). 

Reds pitching retired 23 consecutive batters from the 2nd inning into the 9th.

Jeimer Candelario: 2 H, 2B ended an 0-for-19 funk.
