In his first MLB game in four years (1997), Reds outfielder Deion Sanders goes 3-for-3 with a three-run home run and a stolen base at Cinergy Field.

He'd been recalled from Triple-A Louisville after hitting .459 in 19 games.

It was his third stint with the Reds. He would be released on June 22 after hitting just .173 in 32 games and 83 plate appearances that season.

Deion's time with the Reds:

1994: .277/.342 with 19 stolen bases in 46 games.

1995: .240/.296 with 16 stolen bases in 33 games.

1997: .273/.329 with 56 stolen bases in 115 games.

2001: .173 in 32 games

Totals with Reds: .260/.319 with 94 stolen bases in 226 games.

Career totals in parts of nine ML seasons: .263/.319 with 186 stolen bases in 641 games. He led the NL in triples with 14 in 1992.

He hit .533 (8 for 15) for the Braves vs the Jays in the 1992 World Series. He added five stolen base and two walks.
