Garth Brooks cancels tour including Cincinnati show

(Cincinnati, OH) - Country music icon Garth Brooks has cancelled the next five cities on his Stadium Tour because of the current surge of COVID-19 cases.

That includes his show at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati on September 18th. Others shows that are cancelled are Charlotte September 25th, Baltimore October 2nd, Foxborough October 9th and Nashville, where a new date had not been set after a July rain out.

The singer's website says fans will not need to take any action to get a refund; Ticketmaster will do so on the "original method of payment used at time of purchase."

A total of approximately 350,000 tickets will be refunded in Cincinnati and four other cities, according to the website.

Brooks says he thought that in July the pandemic was ending. "Now, watching this new wave, I realize we are still in the fight and I must do my part. I have asked the wonderful cities of Cincinnati and Charlotte to wait too long and I don't want to now do that same thing to the great folks in Boston and Baltimore."

"I'm sincerely hoping we are back on tour before the year's end," Brooks says.

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour so far has played before more than 300,000 fans in five cities since the tour was restarted last month.
