( Cincinnati ) - It's that time of year again. Gone are the days of parents camping out to get their child into the Cincinnati Public Schools' magnet school of their choice. Now it's all about an online lottery system, and that's opened again for the 2019-2020 school year.
Round 1 of the lottery is open from now until December 14. Applications are submitted online by clicking here, and seats in schools are assigned randomly. Round 2 starts in January, and Round 3 begins in March, but a statement from the district says parents should submit applications in Round 1 because schools fill up quickly.
Parents will be notified by mail in January as to whether their children have been accepted or put on a waiting list.
If the family does not have internet access, parents can use computers in CPS schools or at the CPS Education Center at 2651 Burnet Avenue.
