Former Fairfield resident and mother of 4 Maribel Trujillo Diaz is in ICE custody prior to her likely deportation back to Mexico. Trujillo has been in the US 15 years, and aside from being here illegally she has no criminal record.
Sloanie asks, why does it take 15 years to kick someone out of the country who shouldn't have been here in the first place? And if it takes 15 years, should we revisit the issue of immigration?
