(Newark, NJ)  --  President Obama is officially endorsing Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker for the United States Senate.  In a written statement the President praises Booker’s "work for the underprivileged and his ability to bring people together to create progress."  Booker says he is humbled by the endorsement and will work with the President in their "shared vision" for America.  He is running in the October special election to replace the late Frank Lautenberg.
