( Washington, DC ) - Cincinnati City Councilman Chris Seelbach will be in the nation's capital on Wednesday to be honored as a "Harvey Milk Champion of Change."

The White House is honoring Seelbach as one of ten openly LGBT elected officials. The event on Milk's birthday is also to remember Milk as the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California.

Seelbach is the first openly gay person ever elected in the city of Cincinnati.
