(Downtown) -- The club has worldwide recognition and locally it is synonymous with jazz music, but the lights are out at The Blue Wisp after they shut their doors unexpectedly this weekend.  The employees were told on Thursday night and they could be seen packing up equipment and fixtures on Saturday in the club on Race at 7th Street. The Blue Wisp moved there in 2012 but their history in the Queen City dates back to O'Bryonville in 1973.  No word on whether they are planning on reopening or moving.  Jack Brandt, the owner has not given a reason for the closure.
