(Liberty Township, Butler County, OH)--Mitchell Simon, 17, pleaded guilty Monday in an attempt to kill his parents. He admitted developing a plot to tie his parents' bedroom door shut, and then setting the house on fire.

Simon was found competent to stand trial in March.  He was charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder, and one count of aggravated arson.

Simon's father jumped from a second story window, and broke both legs. His mother escaped with the help of first responders.

Simon was found later by police. He will be sentenced Wednesday afternoon.
