Gary Cook, 56, was shot and killed Tuesday night by officers of the Warren County Tactical Response Unit.

The unit was called to 4861 Lebanon Road in South Lebanon around 5 p.m. Monday. Officers tried to serve a Domestic Violence Protection Order.  Deputies said that Cook barricaded himself inside the house, and threatened deputies. They added that he was armed.

Investigators said that Cook took "aggressive action" against officers on the scene. They fired, and Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation, a standard practice.
