( SOUTHGATE, Ky ) - Crews are working much of the day to clean up a sinkhole that is about 5-feet deep and about the width of the road. Police say the hole has closed Blossom Lane near Alexandria Pike in Southgate Thursday morning and stranded residents in 200 homes.

The sinkhole was apparently caused by a water main break and repairs to the water line and the road are expected to take five hours.

Police and fire officials have made contingency plans so residents in nearby neighborhoods will have access to emergency services.
