A local Prosecutor says he wants to hear from people about their heroin addictions.

Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmoser says "The phone has not stopped ringing since the press release went out and I’m really very, very, happy with that."

Gmoser says he meets confidentially with people who want to shear their stories about struggling with drug addiction. He says "if your calling in it will take us some time to get back with you just because of the number of calls and the stories that are being told."

Gmoser says at least 65 calls had come into a hotline, 888-662-3673, set up by the office. He says he will met confidentially with an addict every day if possible in an effort to get to the root of the heroin problem.

He remembers one woman he recently met with, became addicted to pain pills before moving on to heroin. He says we need to be aware that “if we are turning people away from the legitimate uses of medications, that they are going to ultimately seek that relief [sic] in some form of injectable material like heroin".

Gmoser says if you, or someone you know, needs help overcoming a drug problem, call the appropriate number below to share your story.
