(Avondale) -- Nasha was born just about a week and a half ago, and today, is her first day in front of visitors.
One of five giraffes at the Cincinnati Zoo, Nasha was born during a thunderstorm. Her name, selected from a zoo-sponsored contest, means "comes with the rain".
Director of Animal Collections Bob Lassnau says Nasha is six feet tall, but when she's fully grown, she'll be about 17 feet tall. He says if all goes according to plan, they'll recommend she participate in a breeding program with other zoos.
