(Cincinnati)--A man is facing life in prison for beating a little boy to death in Sycamore Township.
Anthony Pierson pleaded guilty to aggravated murder charges on Tuesday, in the death of 2 year-old James Livesay, in March of 2012. Pierson was watching the toddler at a home on School Road while his girlfriend, James Livesay's mother, was at school. When she returned she found her son unresponsive and called 911.
Pierson had been ordered not to be around James Livesay at the time of his death, because the toddler was previously hospitalized for injuries received from abuse.
The coroner ruled the toddler died of blunt force trauma from being stomped on and struck.
In return for Pierson’s guilty plea, the prosecutor took the death penalty off the table. Pierson could receive life in prison without the possibility of parole when he is sentenced on January 30.
