Maderia's 2013 outfielder Andrew Benintendi has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings High School National Player of the Year.

Benintendi, who signed with Arkansas and will report to the SEC school in mid-August, batted .584 as a seinor this season with the Mustangs.

He was named Gatorade Ohio Baseball Player of the Year in late May. Benintendi is ranked second in Ohio with 213 career hits.

The Reds drafted Benintendi in the 31st round of the Draft last month but he will play baseball at Arkansas.
